We've seen some large-scale simulations, including some that couldn't get larger. Simulated cellular networks are still a rare breed, however, which makes Sandia National Laboratories' MegaDroid project all the more important. The project's cluster of off-the-shelf PCs emulates a town of 300,000 Android phones down to their cellular and GPS behavior, all with the aim of tracing the wider effects of natural disasters, hacking attempts and even simple software bugs. Researchers imagine the eventually public tool set being useful not just for app developers, but for the military and mesh network developers -- the kind who'd need to know how their on-the-field networks are running even when local authorities try to shut them down. MegaDroid is still very much an in-progress effort, although Sandia Labs isn't limiting its scope to Android and can see its work as relevant to iOS or any other platform where a ripple in the network can lead to a tidal wave of problems.

Question by Brandon: Boost Mobile Phone: "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect"? I am trying to reach someone whom I know uses a Boost Mobile phone. I would use my home phone and call their number and I receive a message that says: "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect, exc." In the past I have been able to reach the person without any problems. At the present moment I have no other way of getting a hold of them. Why would I be receiving this message? Any and all possibilities would help. Thanks! Best answer for Boost Mobile Phone: "The number or code you have dialed is incorrect"?:

Answer by SSP Bowl Dude
They didn't pay for their service.

Answer by jose
It might be because he lives far away or your home phone provider might not be letting you but I think its cause he or she does not have their phone turned on, or blocked your number or it might be because they have not paid their phone bill. I had the same problem and most of the time its because they have their phone off or they didn't pay their bill. Hoped this helped.

Answer by karletta
I've been getting the same message. I was able to text this person on Tuesday, but I haven't been able to reach him since then. Normally, if there is no money on the phone, it just goes to voice mail. I've never gotten this message before. I can only assume one of four things - 1, the phone is off; 2, there is a problem with boost right now; 3, the number has been changed; 4, there is a block.

Question by Phoenix: What does it mean "unlocked cell phone" on ebay? I want to buy a razr on ebay. I keep on getting the word "the phone is "unlocked"".i do not know what that means.............ok..i found out what it means: you can use any carrier. but are those carriers any pre paid services??? Best answer for What does it mean "unlocked cell phone" on ebay?:

Answer by Heinz M
Usable with different service providers, not just one.

Answer by JerrysWife
it means that you can go to any provider (verizon, cingular, etc) and have it turned on. But you may not be able to access all the little extras (internet, etc) like you could if you got a phone specifically for a certain provider and turned it on through that provider.

Answer by moejoe
Yep. That means you can use ANY Sim card, whether Post Paid Sims or pre paid Sims. Even over seas Sim cards are accepted.

Facebook has long declared that it's "free and always will be." And it still is â€" unless you want more friends to see what you have to say.

The social media giant is rolling out a feature in the U.S. that lets users pay to promote their posts to friends, just as advertisers do. Facebook has been testing the service in New Zealand, where it tries out a lot of new features, and has gradually introduced it in more than 20 other countries. Facebook said Wednesday that promoting a post â€" such as announcing a garage sale, charity drive or big news like an engagement â€" will bump it higher in your friends' news feeds.

"Every day, news feed delivers your posts to your friends. Sometimes a particular friend might not notice your post, especially if a lot of their friends have been posting recently and your story isn't near the top of their feed," wrote Abhishek Doshi, a software engineer at Facebook, on Facebook's news site.

Facebook didn't say how much it will cost to promote the posts, only that it's considering a range of prices as part of the test. On Wednesday, though, some users could see $ 7 as a cost per each update that they want to promote.

Question by Corinne B: How do you say the following in spanish on the phone: "Hi, it's John."? When someone answers the phone, "bueno," I say, soy John, como estas? or whatever, but I think soy john is very akward. How do you say, it's John? Best answer for How do you say the following in spanish on the phone: "Hi, it's John."?:

Answer by dart
Hola, soy Juan/John. And they only say "bueno" in Mexico. They say "Dígame" in Spain.

Answer by Maddie
idkk. im taking Spanish in school and the translation of wat u said was something like hi, I'm John, how are u or something like tht and i think tht is betrr to say

Answer by Julio A
bueno. . es juan. como estas? me puedes dar un taco

Answer by Jocelyn
Bueno, habla John.

Answer by Americo G
"Bueno" is used mostly in Mexico. Usually, they always say "Bueno, ¿quien habla?" (well, who is speaking?), So, answering "it's John" sounds OK, because you are actually answering the "who is speaking? part. In other countries, people say "Diga", "hola" or "Aló", not problem with those, because those words just want to prompt a reaction in the speaker. Like saying: "you can start to talk", "we are hearing". Actually, it's the same with "Bueno". So, don't be literal. BTW, "it's John" translates into "Soy John", but always remember to say "Hola" first.

Answer by colombitana
To answer the phone with "bueno" is mexican, like everyone said. You could say "Hola, soy John." But you can't say "es John," this is a literal translation from English that doesn't work. You can also say "Hola, hablas con John." At least in Colombia they would usually answer the phone, "Alo," and sometimes ask, "con quien hablo?" so I usually say, "Hablas con..." Hope it helps.

Answer by lala
no, it doesn´t sound awkward I´m from mexico and every "young" person would say soy john, at least if you´re talking with someone your age, if your talking with someone older and wanna be polite you should say "bueno, hola, habla john" you have to know that bueno doesn´t mean exactly hello it´s just a way to answer the phone so is better if you say hola, buenos dias, buenas tardes or buenas noches afterwards
