Question by Mr.foofoo: What does this mean? "I make way more decisions than I should based on the battery life of my phone."? I read this somewhere "I make way more decisions than I should based on the battery life of my phone." and I can't seem the interpret the proper meaning. Can someone explain it to me? Best answer for What does this mean? "I make way more decisions than I should based on the battery life of my phone."?:
Answer by Kay
Look at it this way: everytime you use your phone to answer someone or MAKE A DECISION, you're using some of its battery. So, if your battery life is low, your decision making is high.
Answer by Dugg Lowe
It can also mean that your phone battery life is so short, that other person usually would use it less. So if you use your phone to make a decision, you do it more than a normal person would. Also, the same sentence can mean that you took a wrong decision about your phone - maybe your friends or parents advised you to buy another phone which would last longer or have more battery life, but you did this decision yourself and it turned out to be wrong.

Except it's better. Unlike Siri, Google Now can tap into Google's search engine and return better results. Unlike Siri, Google Now is a finished product that just works. And unlike Siri, Google Now is actually useful and accurate.
Then there's the whole Apple Maps debacle, which spurred a humble apology from Tim Cook and a new section in Apple's App Store for alternative mapping apps. Without beating a dead horse, let's just say Apple Maps are pretty awful, sometimes hilariously so.
There's a pattern developing here.
Whenever Apple attempts a data-driven service like Siri or maps, it fails miserably. Both those services rely on a bunch of third parties like Wolfram Alpha or Yahoo (for Siri) and Waze, TomTom, or Yelp (for Maps). The results are two shaky products that can't get you what you need the way Google can. When Apple cuts out Google, things get worse.
The New York Times touched on the subject last week when it wrote about Cook's apology for Maps. One nugget in the story really stuck out:
The companyâs weakness in this area could become a bigger problem over time as smartphones become more intimately tied to information and software on the Internet â" a field where Google, which makes the competing Android phone software, has the home-turf advantage.
The article goes on to mention Ping and MobileMe as other Apple failures, but those are different. MobileMe was a way to sync contacts and email between your PC, the Web, and iPhone or iPad. Ping was a social network baked into iTunes. Neither were products that rely on massive amounts of data like Maps and Siri do now.
And that's where things look scary for Apple. Products like MobileMe can be tweaked and fixed. (MobileMe wasn't that bad to begin with, but iCloud is definitely an improvement.) But if you don't have a ton of data for services like Siri and maps, there's nothing you can do. The product is only as good as the data you have.
This is the biggest problem with Apple cutting out all things Google from the iPhone. Google has had years to collect massive amounts of data from its users. As a hardware company, Apple has to hope others have the data it needs. Until recently, it relied on Google for that. Now its trying it's luck with other companies. That's not working.
What's really worrisome is that Apple could take its battle with Google a step further and get into the search business, removing Google as the default engine on iPhones and iPads. It's not very likely to happen, but there have been talks of Apple trying search since before it bought Siri a few years ago. If Apple really is trying to destroy Google, then don't be surprised if search is its next target.
It's a disaster waiting to happen.

The "new iPad" is soon expected to give way to the "new new iPad." Rumors, inside information, analysis and gossip point to a smaller iPad mini, possibly to compete with the 7-inch form factor made popular by the Google Nexus 7.
You can make the case from a business perspective; Remember, we've already been down this road before. General Motors' Alfred Sloan developed the "ladder of success," which priced Chevrolet as the common man's car and the Cadillac as the automobile of the executive class. I doubt that Apple would carve out a separate brand, but it's been willing to use cheaper options - such as discounting older phones or making them free - to encourage more customers to enter the Apple ecosystem. An iPad mini would fill the bill.
From a user perspective, Apple has to realize that certain things don't work on a tablet. I'd argue, frankly, that a rear-mounted camera doesn't make a whole lot of sense - it's just awkward to hold up a tablet to take a picture, and it calls attention to yourself in a way that an iPhone or other smartphone doesn't. (Perhaps that's why there are no camera settings on the new iPad.)
But there are other reasons for developing an iPad mini, most having to do with reasons of weight and general awkwardness. The so-called "gorilla arm" syndrome doesn't come into play here (also known as arm fatigue, used as Apple's argument against touch-screen PCs, with a vertically mounted display). But it's undeniable that a smaller form factor like an iPhone or an iPad mini works better in certain use cases. In the following pages, we'll show you six.

Answer by rebecca
home phone, land line, land phone all the same thing - basically a phone number they can reach you that isn't your cell phone or work phone. it can be given to you by anyone that provides your house with a phoneline. it's the old school way we use to keep connected - dial up uses a "land phone"
Answer by ladi294
You have a land phone since it is provided by your cable company. A land phone is a house phone
Answer by techman2000
A cable phone is technically a VoIP phone, which goes through the internet to make phone calls. If your only choices are cell phones or land phones, then it would be considered a land phone. I always think of land phones supplied by phone wires and communicates through the POTS system. Anyways, if an employer asks for a land phone, then give them the phone number that your cable company gave you.
Answer by politicallyyours
They're talking about a phone you have in your house that's sans cell phone technology.(traditional telephone wire line or cable line) Vonage might even qualify as a land line/land phone.
Answer by mtnsky
