Banana Phone The Flash

WASHINGTON | Tue Oct 2, 2012 3:09pm EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Google subsidiary Motorola Mobility has dropped a complaint of patent infringement against Apple without explanation.

In a brief filing with the International Trade Commission made on Monday, Motorola Mobility said it was dropping without prejudice a complaint that Apple had infringed on seven Motorola patents.

Reuters had reported in August that the two companies were in settlement talks. Telephone calls to Google on the matter were not immediately returned. Apple did not return telephone calls seeking comment.

The complaint can be re-submitted. Google did say in its filing that "there are no agreements between Motorola and Apple, written or oral, express or implied, concerning the subject matter of this investigation."

The two companies have been locked in an international patent war since 2010, as Apple has sought to limit the growth of Google's Android system. The fight has embroiled Samsung, HTCand others that use Android.

The biggest victory in the fight so far belongs to Apple. On August 24, a jury in a California federal court ordered Samsung to pay $ 1.05 billion in damages after finding that Samsung had copied critical features of the iPhone and iPad and could face an outright sales ban on key products.

Samsung was the top-selling mobile-phone maker in the second quarter of 2012, with Apple in third place, according to data from Gartner Inc.

Question by Ethan Kienzle: How is a nucleus like a "cell phone"? I am currently working on a summer assignment for freshman year's honors biology and i must find a scientific cartoon and write a one paragraph explanation on how the subject relates to it.so if you could help with this one question. how is a cell's nucleus related to a "cell phone" as in cellular device. Best answer for How is a nucleus like a "cell phone"?:

Answer by Angel089
It holds all the information that you could need. Nucleus has DNA Cell phone has contact information

Answer by Jmla
nucleus is the control center of the cell. It has the ability to get the cell working by sending messages to specific parts of the cell to perform specific tasks or processes. Same with a cellphone, you may be able to send messages to other people. you can ask them to do favors for you or make demands or commands just by sending a text or calling. in addition, the nucleus contains the Deoxyribonucleic Acid or the DNA that contains the genetic make up of an organism which can tell what a person would look like and other physical traits. as with cell phone, it can contain so many information that may define you such as personal information, pictures of you, pictures of relatives and all sorts of pictures and many more.

Answer by Leonardo
The nucleus of the cell contains much of the DNA of the cell, and it regulates the activities of that cell, whatever those activities are. The nucleus is composed of chemical structures that orchestrate chemical reactions that make the cell function. It is the nucleus, or, rather, those things in it, that control what the cell does, including those activities that keep the cell alive, as well as the things it does to contribute to the functioning of the organism whose structure it is a part of. In this way you could compare the nucleus to a "cell phone" by saying that both are a sort of medium for transferring information to other entities. If I were you I'd draw a cartoon of a man wearing a shirt with the word "NUCLEUS" on it calling another man with organelle name on his shirt, maybe "MITOCHONDRIA" unless you're dealing with a specific cell that doesn't contain the organelle mitochondria. In a speech bubble you could write out a command that the nucleus is giving to that organelle - in the case of mitochondria you could write "break down some lipids and complex molecules!" another way you could do it, which is probably more accurate, is to write the organelle asking "what should I do?" and the nucleus saying "I'm texting you the DNA code now." Because as I mentioned before the cell nucleus is an organelle that functions as command-central, so to speak. The nucleus contains the genetic code material, in the form of DNA, that coordinates the growth and functioning of the rest of the cell.

Question by Ria: Is it okay to use a charger that says "cable not recommended for this phone?"? I have the EnV Touch, and I left my charger at my dad's and it's impossible for me to get it back tonight. I have the charger for my EnV2 though and it fits. However, when I plug it in, it says "cable not recommended for this phone." Is it safe to use for now, at least until I get the actual charger back? Best answer for Is it okay to use a charger that says "cable not recommended for this phone?"?:

Answer by NoraCat
I wouldn't use this charger. The "not recommended" message might actually mean DO NOT USE (sometimes things get lost in translation - lots of phones are originally designed in languages other than English, and sometimes translations aren't perfect). Anyway, which is worse - having a dead battery for a day or two, or frying your phone for good?

Please Tweet it! clicktotweet.com What do strangers do when you "crash" their cell phone conversations? The answer might just surprise you! Shot in San Francisco, CA over Thanksgiving weekend. Special thanks to my beautiful wife Kim Evey for operating camera, and to the three surprisingly nice people whose calls I crashed! Is everyone that nice in San Francisco??? music by audionautix (Jason Shaw) www.youtube.com A lot of you ask how I record the sound in these videos. I use a Sennheiser wireless lavaliere mic (hidden under my sweater, by the breast bone), and shoot with a small, inexpensive Canon HD camera (HFR200) that the audio receiver plugs directly into. Sometimes I use a lavalier mic that I've hidden in the top of a ball point pen, and it sits in my pocket. If you'd like to see how I rigged that, check out this video: www.youtube.com
