Google is reportedly getting ready to make the maps experience on the iPhone a little easier â" in the phoneâs main browser.
According to a report from the New York Timesâ David Pogue, Google is planning to roll out its Street View feature to mobile Safari users in the next two weeks. The Times has also reported that Google has submitted an app to Appleâs App Store that will go live by the end of the year, something the company has not confirmed.

Debt hits nearly 1 in 5 households with the biggest burdens falling on the young and poor.

The drought has been devastating the Midwest. And, say economists, the worst is still yet to come.
The shake-up caused when Apple eliminated Google Maps from its iOS 6 update shows the growing divide between Google and Apple â" a competitive clash that started with the introduction of Googleâs Android operating system.
The rivalry may have become too heightened for Apple to want to continue the Google Maps partnership, according to a report from All Things Digitalâs John Paczkowski. Citing âsources familiar with Appleâs thinking,â he said that the Cupertino, Calif., firm had been trying to negotiate with Google to include voice turn-by-turn directions in Maps. In exchange, the report said, Google wanted additional branding. When the request was rejected, Google asked for the ability to add its Latitude geolocation feature to Apple devices. Again, the report said, Apple turned it down.
That narrative backs up a June report from the Wall Street Journal on the negotiations over Maps.
Regardless of what the back-and-forth may have been, we all know the end result: Apple turned to other partners to create its own mapping program, and the gap in development between the two directional services became painfully obvious.
Apple has acknowledged that its Maps feature isnât where it should be and said itâs working on the problem. Mapping the world, after all, is a big job. Itâs taken Google â" and, it should be said, Nokia â" years to accomplish the level of detail in their mapping programs, with lots of help from their users.
And while Apple works on its program, with dashes of input from users, iPhone users have other options to fill in the gaps â" including, it seems, a more complete mobile maps site, via Google, on Appleâs own Safari browser.

Bread machine. I still make bread from scratch but I love this thing. I love also the little plastic shaker with measurements for milk, oil, throw in your egg and shake to add to dry ingrediants for fast muffins, pancakes etc. Also I got one of those little magic paring knives at walmart - super sharp - I would buy one of those in a minute if I see it again. They slice through anything - great for splitting chicken wings and slicing frenched rack of lamb.

Microsoft's failure to adhere to the European Commission's "browser ballot" requirement could result in formal charges, according to a new report.
As noted by Reuters, EU Competition Commissioner Joaquin Almunia told reporters in Warsaw that the organization is "working on" opening a formal proceeding against Microsoft for its browser missteps.
Almunia said he does not expect the investigation to last too long since Microsoft has already acknowledged its mistakes, Reuters said.
Almunia's office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The controversy dates back to 2009, when the European Commission announced that Microsoft violated European competition law by bundling its Internet Explorer browser with Windows. As a result, Microsoft said it would ship a version of Windows 7 with a "browser ballot" that would allow users to select which browser they wanted during the OS installation process. The EU approved that plan in Dec. 2009 and it started rolling out two months later.
Earlier this year, the commission notified Microsoft that it had received reports of people not seeing the browser screen choice (BCS). Microsoft said it investigated and discovered that users of Windows 7 service pack 1 were not seeing the browser ballot due to a technical error. A fix started rolling out to PCs running Windows 7 SP1 in early July.
The EU opened an investigation and Almunia said at the time that "if following our investigation, the infringement is confirmed, Microsoft should expect sanctions."
In late July, the EU said its investigation had expanded to include accusations that Redmond discouraged computer makers from providing access to rival browsers, limited API access, and ditched support for other browsers in Windows RT.
Microsoft has not commented publicly on the controversy since admitting the glitch in a July blog post.
